IPL: Bangalore’s comfortable win over Punjab at Mohali

IPL matches are now gaining momentum with fast shuffling at the points table. The initial have to have slid down and the bottom ones have steadily climbed up.

Mohali on Friday witnessed seasoned fireworks from the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s ace batsman Chris Gayle. The match toss was won by the RCB, who put their opponents Kings XI Punjab on to bat at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium for the Indian Premier League (IPL). Punjab team was handicapped as Adam Gilchrist; Captain was in the stands, due to injury.  However the stand in Captain David Hussey played a magnificent anchor role and score 421 runs but could not see the home team to victory. Azar Mahmood also added his contribution of 33 runs to let the home team pile up 163 runs after losing six wickets. For the RCB the bowling department excelled Zaheer Khan and Mc Donald capture two wickets each.

The RCB came up batting in the second half of the match. But was initially in a setback with the lethal attack by Kings XI pacer Parvinder Awana who grabbed four big wickets had played a crucial role in bringing the match in favor of the home team. But later the same bowler succumbed to pressure and bowled an eight ball over in the eighteenth over. The RCB consolidated in this over with Gayle slammed the first four balls for 17 runs. Awana brought the match in favor of the home team and equally gave away the match too. Gayle the Man of the Match scored 87 runs to help the RCB post their second consecutive victory. AB de Villers had equal efforts in the win with his knock of 52 runs. In the end RCB made a 166 for five wickets in the 19.3 overs to post the win. (With inputs from internet: AarKay)
