The Indian cricket team was quite relieved with win in the third ODI and also sealed the series after the Test loss. In the third ODI at Edgbaston yesterday, India were on top of every department and restricted England to 206. It was pleasing performance by Indian bowlers who gave no room for English batsmen by bowling tighter lines.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar provided India with early wickets and then Shami carried it. Later the spinners got into action and England wickets tumbling. However, Moeen Ali is the only English batsmen who took it on bowlers and scored alround the ground. He also became the first England's batsman to score a half century in this series.
India in reply to England's total never looked panic. Openers Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan smashed boundaries at regular intervals keeping a good run rate. Rahane completed his first century in ODIs and also recorded a the best partnership for the opening wicket. Shikhar Dhawan too who is out of form remained unbeaten at 97 as India won the match by nine wickets.
