Google to shut G Talk!

Internet giant, Google will shut yet another its feature and this time it is the very popular messenger platform Gtalk. Instead, Google will be promoting Hangouts Messenger services for Windows users. Google which the made the Gtalk unavailable for download, has redirected the Gtalk download page to Hangouts download page ever since it has announced the end of Gtalk.

Earlier this week Google notified Gtalk users to upgrade to Google Hangouts because the application will go unoperational after February 16th. However, this may not help Google much, as Hangout messenger hasn't reached much and still many prefer Gtalk, as the application works exceptionally well on slow internet connection too. Despite, Hangouts having problem, Google is going ahead to promoteĀ  it and the only advantage Hangouts has is, it provides Video Hangouts and Group Video Chats which is offered by none.

But sources say Google has other plans to make Hangouts messenger more popular. Nevertheless, it would get tough competition from WhatsApp which launched a web application very recently. The internet giant has close Orkut, the major social networking site in last September due to heavy competition from its rival Facebook.
