4.75 Cr Indian Truecaller Records Sold For Rs 75,000:- In a shocking revelation, around 4.75 crore records of Indians are claimed to be sold by a cybercriminal for just Rs 75,000. The report is released as per the online intelligence firm Cyble. A spokesperson of Truecaller denied the news saying that no breach of such sorts happened from their database till date. The spokesperson said that Truecaller's name was misused to make the data look credible. "Our researchers have identified a reputable seller, who is selling 47.5 million Indians Truecaller records for USD 1,000 (about Rs 75,000). The data is from 2019. We were also taken off by surprise with such a low price point," said Cyble in a blog.

Cyble said that the records including phone numbers, city, mobile network, Facebook and gender has been leaked said the report. Cyble said that this leak may have a huge impact in India such as scams, spams and other identity thefts. They said that they would update the blog with more information very soon. However the spokesperson said that there was no breach for the database reminding about a similar sale that took place in May 2019. Cyble also came out with a report about the personal data of 2.9 crore Indians that is sold to the dark web which is about the information of the job websites.
