Komati Reddy Venkata reddy quits as minister, MLA

VReddyAggrieved over the stance of the Chief Minister Kirankumar reddy and the congress leadership towards the Telangana agitation, Minister for Investments and Infrastructure Mr Komati Reddy Venkata reddy today quit from the Cabinet and also from the assembly.

Mr Venkata reddy submitted his resignation letter to the Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan this evening and asked him to accept it immediately. He requested the Governor to relieve him of his minister’s responsibilities with immediate effect.

Later, he went to the assembly and submitted his resignation as MLA to the Assembly Secretary Mr Sadaram.

For quite some days, Mr Reddy has been expressing displeasure over the attitude of Kirankumar reddy towards the mass general strike of the employees.

The minister has also criticised the CM openly on several issues and said he would resign if the Centre doesn’t announce Telangana formation before Sept 30. True to his word, he submitted his resignation today.

Tomorrow, he is holding a huge public meeting at Nalgonda to highlight the cause of separate Telangana.
