Court reserves order on Chidambaram in 2G scam

The CBI special court of Delhi today reserved its order for Feb 4 on Janata Party president Dr Subramanian Swamy’s plea to prosecute Home Minister P. Chidambaram for his involvement in the 2G scam.

Dr Swamy concluded his arguments today on his petition seeking the prosecution of Chidambaram who he alleged had played a key role in the 2G spectrum allocations in 2008 as per the rates of 2003.

Dr Swamy earlier submitted several documents to prove the involvement of Chidambaram who held the Finance portfolio in 2008. At the end of the arguments and after scrutinizing the documents submitted by the Janata Party chief, the special judge Mr. OP Saini said he would deliver his order on Feb 4.

After Dr Swamy filed his petition against Chidambaram, there was a hue and cry from the BJP leaders for his resignation but the congress leadership and several leaders had vehemently supported the Home Minister and said there was no need for his prosecution. (JUBS)
