AICC President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi expressed their full confidence in the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and declared that there is no rift between them as talk is in the air. Sonia Gandhi said that it is the collective leadership that is working and no room for differences between the Prime Minister and AICC.
In the dinner party of UPA yesterday night, Sonia Gandhi praised Manmohan Singh for discharging duty with dignity in spite of the hostile opposition criticizing and calling him names all the time. For that matter, Sonia said, he is respected and full support will be given to him.
Rahul Gandhi too confirmed that there is no rift between PM and AICC and the Prime minister will join in the next election campaign. Rahul also ruled out his candidature for the post of Prime Minister in the next term.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said on the occasion that the party will go to people and seek for a fresh mandate. He criticized BJP of disrupting the Parliament proceedings.
Although UPA was celebrating completion of its ninth year and tried to look jubilant, the remarks and high criticism of BJP all over the day seem to have an impact on them. This year UPA is celebrating without DMK and TMC.
