3 mysterious deaths in less than 36 hours in Vyapam Case, death toll reaches 46

With three suspicious deaths in less than 36 hours, Vyapam case has shaken the entire nation and left many officials in shock. Just a day after Investigative Journalist Akshay Singh’s death, dean of the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh- Arun Sharma, found lifeless in suspicious circumstances in Dwarka hotel in Delhi on Sunday morning. While the officials are worrying about these back to back deaths, the body of a trainee sub-inspector, Anamika Sikarwar (25), was found in the lake adjacent to the Police Training Academy in Sagar.

Vyapam case

A 25-year-old woman trainee sub-inspector, who got into the police force through an exam conducted by Vyapam, was found dead today in a lake. Police suspect it to be a case of suicide.

The body of Anamika Sikarwar (25) was found in the lake adjacent to the Police Training Academy in Sagar district headquarters, City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Gautam Solanki said.
Anamika was married and a resident of Morena district. She was selected as sub-inspector through an exam conducted by Vyapam.

However, the CSP said that her selection has nothing to do with Vyapam scam and she was not a suspected beneficiary.

She was found missing from her room and later her body was found in the lake. It is suspected to be a case of suicide, he said.

Police rushed her immediately to the district hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.

The cops have sealed her room in the academy and so far no suicide note has been found. The exact cause will be known after a probe, Solanki said, adding initial investigations are on in the case.

Madhya Pradesh Vyavasayik Pareeksha Mandal (Vyapam) conducts tests for professional courses and recruitment to various posts. Many businessmen and political bigwigs said to be involved in corrupting the process by putting up fake examinees on basis of which the examinees were recruited and admitted.

46 deaths related to the scam have been reported so far, many of them under suspicious circumstances.
