The AICC President Sonia Gandhi who is solely responsible, as it is clear to everyone, for the decision taken by the Congress party duly obtained approval by UPA and CWC has now asking the Seemandhra leaders to shoulder the responsibility of convincing the people they represent that the division of the State is in the best interests of the people and paves way for the development.  It is also to be reasoned with them that they will be amply compensated with the fair share of the resources from the present State.

As expected and reported before hand by the Seemandhra leaders, the announcement of the bifurcation of the State triggered protests all over the Andhra Rayalaseema region.  With Samaikyandhra JAC’s call for Bandh and protests, all the activities of the districts are reported to have come to standstill with Bandhs.  Violence also took place in some of the protests that were staged.  

Congress party now realizing fully that the loss to the party will be more than anticipated, it is trying to get the loss to the minimum most possible by using the congress leaders to pacify the people telling that whatever is done is good for them.

The party Chief Secretary Digvijay Singh told on Tuesday that the dropping of decision adding two of Rayalaseema districts to Telangana was considered only to minimize the loss to the party.

As YSRCP is taking active part in the protests against the Congress decision, it has become more important to Congress party now to stop YSRCP from taking advantage of the situation.

No doubt it is a bold step of Sonia Gandhi to make a decision to give Telangana Statehood, but it is to be seen how far she will succeed in getting good will in the Andhra Rayalasemma region also with the help of party's spokesmen.
