This is a very bad news for the liquor inhabitants in Telangana as the prices will soon be hiked. As per the latest update, the liquor prices in Telangana will come up by 20% soon. The Excise Department has sent proposals to the government seeking a hike of 30% which has not been accepted. However the Chief Minister of Telangana, Mr K Chandra Sekhar Rao has come up with an approval of 20% hike as per the latest sources. An official announcement will be made after the completion of the budget sessions on March 27th as per the latest update.
With this hike, the government is expected to earn Rs 15,000 crores additionally as per the sources from the government. The prices have not been increased from the last year due to the state bifurcation and the other political developments. The Telangana government has raised the revenue collection from Rs 2823 crores last year to Rs 3916 crores this year. Also there has been no increase in the prices of the beer in the last three years and the breweries are now bringing the pressure on the government to hike the prices. As per the latest update, with the hike in the prices in the coming days, beer will be Rs 15 costlier.
