BJP's Haribhau Bagde has been unanimously elected as the Speaker of Maharashtra Assembly. Though Shiv Sena and Congress fielded their candidates for the Speaker chair, both the parties withdrew in the last minute and made easy for Bagde.  Shiv Sena also congratulated Bagde on being elected as the new speaker of Assembly.

However, the real test for BJP starts from here, as it should win the trust vote in the floor by proving the majority. Shiv Sena has announced that it would vote against BJP while the latter is relying on Nationalist Congress Party's support from outside. BJP also welcomed any party's support except the Congress to its government.
