More mobile market for Google

Google and Motorola recently joined hands to work on a handset, referred to as the X-Phone in the codename while aiming to seize more market share from the present biggies in the market, primarily Apple, Samsung Electronics among others.

The news comes from WSJ which quoted reliable sources. It is no news that Google is now under possession of Motorola since May. Motorola is now working on two separate fronts, X-phone and Verizon Wireless carrier partner's devices.

After acquiring Viewdle, the imaging and gesture-recognition software, Motorola seemed to be more keen on development of the X-Phone, which is expected to be out next year. The phone itself is not the end of the collaborative development as a “x”Tablet is also underway. Larry Page the CEO of Google has already set aside a big marketing budget for the unit.

Google however remained unavailable for comments.
