Google's $1 Billion deal with Apple

Google would be paying a billion dollars to the tech giant, Apple next year to retain the position of being the default search engine. The search engine giant is apparently keen to be the number one search engine provider for the year to come too.

The Next Google is Google, a report said when it announced the deal. An analyst from Morgan Stanley speculated the amount to retain the position of the default search engine based on how Google makes deals with companies and spends money. Apple makes money on the number of devices it sells with Google.com being the primary search engine.

With the introduction of newer devices every year and increasing patronage and loyalty for Apple, the figure has reached a billion now. This is the amount it has to pay to keep abreast of Yahoo, Bing and others. Similar deals are in place with web browsers like Opera and Mozilla too.
