Viveka refuses to apologize, ready to quit

Viveka2An intransigent agriculture minister YS Vivekananda reddy, who has drawn flak from the congress benches as well as the opposition members for his unwanted behaviour in the assembly today, refused to tender an apology to the TDP members as suggested by ruling party colleagues and demanded by opposition MLAs. He told his colleagues he was ready to quit his minister’s post rather than apologize for the incident.

An angry Viveka went threateningly towards TDP MLA Muddukrishnama Naidu during the assembly session,  dragged out a placard from his hands and tore it into pieces as it read “YSR dongala mutha” (YSR’s gang of thieves). He then tried to hit another TDP MLA Mr Prabhakar  holding him by his collar and reportedly calling him ‘bastard’.

Viveka’s term as Legislative Council member will end on Tuesday. He had already announced he would contest from the Pulivendula assembly constituency in the bye elections. In view of this, Viveka has reportedly decided to resign as he is going to face the bye election.

However, senior congress leader Undavalli Arunkumar and Minister Vatti Vasantha kumar have requested him not to resign from the minister’s post.
