Bharatiya Janata Party has opposed Telangana government's decision of making tennis player Sania Mirza as the brand ambassador of the state. BJP Floor leader Dr. Lakshman has criticised CM KCR that all the decisions made on Muslims are only a stunt for political gains in the upcoming GHMC elections.

“Sania Mirza is born in Maharashtra and she married a Pakistan national, now she is the brand ambassador of Telangana. But students who are born here don't have the privilege of fees reimbursement and the government comes up a nativity rule of 1956. How far is this fair ?,” questioned Lakshman.

Finding fault in reservations to Muslims and paying of salaries to employees before the Ramzan festival, Lakshman demanded the government to follow the similar procedures for Dusshera and Diwali also.
