Former England captain Ian Botham has termed Indian Premier League as powerful and said the league should end for the future of cricket. Botham delivered a lecture at Marylebone Cricket Club [MCC] Spirit of Cricket Cowdrey Lecture at Lord’s on Wednesday night and said the IPL provided the “perfect opportunity for betting and, therefore, fixing” and asked the International cricket Council [ICC] to do more to expose the “big names” involved.

Botham opined that with IPL priorities are changing for world cricket and players are falling pray of bookies. He also appealed to the England government to promote cricket in schools and called on Prime Minister David Cameron to make a change.

We have to see how BCCI responds to Botham's comments.
