This day i.e, December 26 marks the tenth anniversary of havoc Indian ocean Tsunami that rattled 14 nations across the globe, killing 2,30,000 people. The coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh were severely affected by Tsunami that occurred due to massive earthquake measuring about 9.1 Richter magnitude scale. in the Indian ocean. This disaster caused a damage of USD 10 billions but still those incidents can be recollected by the victims.
Indonesia was the most affected country and around 1,70,000 people were killed in this natural hazard. Around 73,000 people in India were displaced, thousands of buildings were damaged and a massive destruction occurred in the coastal line which rely on agriculture maximum. Memorials are organised across the nations which are struck by tsunami. Sri Lanka was the first nation to hit by the tsunami waves.
