The website of Air India crashed due to unprecedented traffic, as it introduced a new scheme offering tickets for Rs 100 apart from all applicable taxes. Air India has announced 'Air India Day' on August 27 to celebrate its merge with Indian Airlines back in 2007. The sale of these tickets is being made through the airline’s website exclusively for five days from August 27 to 31 for travel between August 27 and September 30 only.

As the offer was announced, Air India website is flooded with visitors and within minutes the site crashed. Initially, it took long time to load the page and after few minutes, it showed 'Service Unavailable.'
