Tamil actor Ilayathalapathy Vijay has sent a letter to the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi thanking him for his efforts in bringing back five Tamil fishermen. Sri Lankan government earlier this week, accepted to release Tamil fishermen who were arrested in October 2011 and were sentenced to death.

However, the Indian government intervened in the issue and held talks with Sri Lankan government. The NDA government's efforts is getting appreciated from all corner and Vijay has responded to this. During the election campaign, Modi who visited Tamil Nadu specially met Vijay. Though the political rumours gained importance nothing materialised later.
