Governor's Rule in J&K

The Union government has decided to impose Governor's rule in Jammu & Kashmir as the political parties failed to form government in the state. On Thursday night, the Home Ministry received a report from Jammu Govenor NN Vohra which said, forming government in the state is difficult at current status. Also with caretaker chief minister Omar Abdullah stepping down, with no other option, Vohra recommended Presindent's rule.

Jammu elections concluded on December 20th and People's Democratic Party emerged as the single largest party in the state by winning 28 seats. BJP made a massive impact on the valley state and won 25 seats. National Conference and Congress party secured 15 and 12 seats respectively. In the 87 Assembly, a party should have a majority of 44 to form government in Jammu & Kashmir.
